Developer's Notes:

DO NOT TAP THE GLASS!
Okay, you can tap the glass, but the fish hate it.
Look into a 3D virtual aquarium filled with happy clown fish. Move the camera around and zoom in and out to catch the fish showing off for each other. The fish will behave differently every time you launch the app.
Uses include:* Distract your child before tearing off a bandage.* Take a two minute snorkeling break in meetings.* Pretend you are checking stock prices while you harass the little fishes.
Caution: Do not use while driving or operating heavy machinery.
Clownfish model and animation by ESS Studio.

Our Review:

So while we are on the subject (I just did a quick review of Marine Aquarium) I figured I might look at this app too.

My first question is this- why do developers seem to like using clownfish as the icon for aquarium apps? Ever seen an angelfish??? bluespotted boxfish??? blue devil??? Such variety out there and all we seem to get are... clownfish. I'm just asking...

Unlike Marine Aquarium, the fish in artiFISHal Life actually respond when you tap the glass. That's the good news about this app. And, unfortunately, it is the only good news. The only fish in the app are clownfish, the graphics aren't great, and the motion of the fish is not very realistic. The graphics are not nearly on par with Marine Aquarium. And it gets worse. When you tap the glass it makes an unrealistic sound and the fish turn but almost always remain in EXACTLY the same relative position to one another. And yes, you can "move the camera around and zoom in and out" but there is nothing to really see.

Overall, this app is not worth the $.99 is cost. If, however, you put this and Marine Aquarium together, you ight actually have something. As it stands now, though, we recommend a pass.

Quick Take

Value: Low
Would I Buy Again: No
Learning Curve: Zero. Then again there is nothing to learn.
Who is it for: I'm not sure... I don't think it is for anyone as it currently stands
What I like: Fish respond to tapping on the screen
What I Don’t: Fish don't respond realistically, even the tapping sounds fake, graphics aren't all that good.

Final Statement:
Not for me... or you... as it currently stands.
