Developer's Notes:

Cronk is a cave man who is trying to save his tribal villages from destruction.
In order to help him you must tap the touchscreen to define the direction that you want him to throw his boulders. The object is to match three or more of the same color boulders to destroy the train of boulders before they crush Cronk’s village. Along the way you’ll encounter special boulders that will aid in your quest.
Test your skills through many levels (Timed and Arcade modes).

Our Review:

Cronk is a caveman who needs to save his village from destruction. A train of boulders is slowly making its way toward the village and only one thing can stop them... Cronk. Cronk's job is simple -- throw colored boulders so that three or more like-colored boulders are in a line. Do that and they explode and disappear. If it sounds an awful lot like Zuma... it is.

I like the game.

There are, however, some issues.

--There is only one level of gameplay and almost no customization. Yes, you can control the volume of the music and the sound effects, but that's it. Add to that the fact that you cannot increase the difficulty of the game and, as time goes by, it will likely not hold interest.

--The game lacks something I have come to appreciate in other similar games-- "colorblind mode". As someone who is color deficient, I appreciate a game that has a setting that either increases contrast or turns color differences into pattern variations. It isn't here and was a bit of a problem for me.

--Price! I am meeting more and more people who won't buy apps but instead choose to make do with what is available for free. I'm nowhere near there, but I definitely stop and think before buying any app that is more than a few dollars. Cronk is $7.99. That is a lot for any game and is especially high for this game when others like it (see Blackbeard's Assault) are more refined AND far less expensive.

Overall, however, I really do enjoy the game.

Quick Take

Value:  At current pricing- low
Would I Buy Again:  At current pricing- no
Learning Curve: Low
Who Is It For: Zuma-fans
What I Like:  Zuma-esque
What I Don’t: Minimal customization, no color-blind mode, pricey

Final Statement:  Lots of potential but at the current version level and price I would be hesitant to recommend it.
