I have considered getting an app like this a number of times before, but haven't seen anything that came close to being as extensive as I wanted, until now.
iXpenseIt has almost all the things I was looking for in an expense tracker. It has the ability to track business, personal, categories, and subcategories. I can take a photo of the receipt and assign it to an expense, and I can chart my expenses in a variety of ways in the built in graphing system. It even gives me the ability to export my data as a CSV file, HTML doc, or even email it from the iPhone.
The interface is very easy to use, and the app is definately worth the $4.99 that the developer is asking for it.
The reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is because its missing just a few things that I'm hoping they will be adding to the next update;
1. There is currently no ability to zoom into your receipts after taking the photo and assigning it to an expense. Sometimes, a receipt is just too large and zooming it after taking a photo of it woule help greatly if you want to take a look at it. How about OCRing the receipts for text searching later? :)
2. Exporting currently does not attach the photo of the receipt if one was taken. Obviously, this would be great for export.
3. Syncing with an online service would be great, since i would love to keep track of my expenses in the same database in the case that i'm traveling and wanted to check from a central database.
If these are added, especially 1 and 2, I think this will be the mobile expense tracking app to beat.
Quick Take
Value: Large
Would I Buy Again: Definately
Learning Curve: Low
Who is it for: Business users and anyone who wants to track expenses
What I like: Very complete feature set, Very easy to use.
What I Don’t: Needs the ability to export Photos and Zoom into receipt photos for a closer look.
Final Statement: With a few feature additions, this would make the app to beat in the mobile expense tracking space.

Can anyone tell me can you have more than one bank account ie main monthly spending account and then a credit card account with a savings account?
Totally ready to really like this app but it doesn't calculate properly. It shows I have a balance that I don't have. I kept seeing I had money looking on the green battery that balance didn't change. I figured it out happily so I didn't rely on it. The other thing is my version purchased two days ago doesn't look like the manufacture shows "setting" button and "reports" button plus arrows at the bottom. I have nothing like that? So in concept it it the best but obviously not practical to use. So what I am saying is my screen doesn't look like it is suppose to and I wonder why. If it doesn't calculate as you go you're in big trouble. Also I can't find where I "credit" my account.
Since the day that i bought it i could organize my finances in iphone, better than others budget.
I have used iXpenseIt to track my expenses (in the hope to know where I'm spending too much, and cutting down on the spending to save money) since the first version that it came out with a few months ago. At first, the interface and features were pretty simple and straightforward, but the current 2.0.2 version is just packed with EVERYTHING you need to keep track of your money. The interface has changed quite a bit, more colorful and easy to navigate now. It has added a budget feature, daily average spending, in addition to the already present expense recording (with receipt photo), report summary and graphing feature, etc... Seems like this app is getting pretty popular worldwide...so far, the app can be used in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese. (Pretty impressive!) Note: Also, it seems like the photo receipt on a expense record DOES get exported as an attachment when sent to your email :)
Definitely hands down one of the best useful apps. Well worth the money that I used almost daily. It's amazing to see after a month or so where all my money went. I found myself much more educated about my own expenses!
How does it calculate? I think my app is missing something.
