Ever wished you could swing your iPhone around like a lightsaber? Well now you can, with PhoneSaber. As you swing your phone, a range of lightsaber sound effects will be emitted from your phone's speaker (or connected audio output). Not only that, but you can also withdraw and put away your saber. Last but not least, you can also change the colour of your lightsaber for maximum effect. PhoneSaber will be available on the App Store (at launch) for free! |
Okay, this app is stupid. It is dumb. It is silly. It evoked "You have GOT to be kidding me!" from my spouse.
And that's the point. Phone Saber is a free, dumb app that is good for a laugh and a great example of using the iPhone's accelorometer in an unusual way. The app provide a small image of a light saber (if you do not know what that is you need to brush up on your cultural references) in a variety of colors. Fire it up, start swinging and enjoy come of the lightsaber goodness.
BUT...
GET A REALLY REALLY GOOD GRIP ON YOUR IPHONE BEFORE YOU START SWINGING.
Sorry iPod Touch Users, while the app works on your device the lack of a speaker kinda ruins the whole effect.
Quick Take:
Value: Zero! (but that's what it costs and it is worth the laugh)
Would I Buy Again: It was free but I don't think it will be staying on my iPhone for very long
