Developer's Notes:

Ragdoll Blaster combines the fun of firing ragdolls from cannons with the challenge of a puzzle game . . . while simulating real physics. It is fun, fast paced and addictive - requiring both agile fingers and an active mind. You simply touch the screen to aim and fire your ragdoll at increasingly more difficult targets. The object is to complete the levels using as few ragdolls as possible . . . easier said than done. This game is the latest entry in the popular ragdoll physics-based puzzle genre, but has been given an entirely new spin using the innovative controls of the iPhone/iPod Touch. It introduces a whole new world of springs, pistons, wheels, buttons, motors and other complex moving objects designed to enhance the game and prevent you from hitting targets.- 18 levels of puzzling fun- Incredibly simple yet addictive.- Single tap to aim, fire and control velocity.- Flying ragdolls.- Intuitive user interface.- Action packed.- Real physics.- Play in-game music or anything from your iPhone/iPod Touch.- Scoring per level. Compare with friends.- Saves game progress.- Easy to play, difficult to master.

Our Review:

Ragdoll Blaster Lite is a good game for those physics nerds that can instinctively calculate  angles.  If you're good at billards, you'll likely be good at Ragdoll Blaster.

The premise behind the game is simple.  You are given a target, a set of barricades and a cannon that shoots rag dolls (or dead bodies, depending on how sick your imagination is).  You have to hit the target and navigating around whatever barricades that may appear.  As levels progress, the barricades get increasingly difficult to overcome.  Once a target is hit, the entire screen falls apart and you go to the next round.

While interesting, the game can get boring, redundant and possibly even frustrating very quickly.  The graphics are incredibly simplistic and the screens frankly look like they were drawn by an elementary school student, and one of the younger grades of elementary school at that.  I can only guess that it was the developers' attempt to be artistic.

On the other hand, I don't think art was what the developer was going for.  More likely it was physics.  The motion of the body blasting out of the cannon looks pretty genuine and does make good use of the graphics.  If they really wanted to impress me, the company would develop Ragdoll Blaster 3-D.

The full version of Ragdoll Blaster costs $1.99 and comes with more levels and features.  It's worth downloading the free version but I'm not enthusiased enough to invest more in it.

Pros: Good graphics physics.  Interesting concept.

Cons: Not very good graphics themselves.
