Our Review:

This is a really nice application for getting up-to-the-minute news on the tournament. When you first start the application you have the option to select either the men's or women's NCAA Basketball Tournament. Under each you can choose either the scoreboard or a specific bracket.

Tapping the men's scoreboard quickly gives you up-to-date information on games over a three-day period.

For instance, I brought it up just now and it showed me yesterday, today, and tomorrow. If the game was already played, tapping that particular game shows a summary of the score and the team comparison.

If the game has not yet been played, tapping that particular game gives you information on the odds in the matchup and a preview of the game.

For example this preview reads,
"In what appears to be a monumental mismatch, the second-seeded Duke blue Devils will take on the 15th seeded Birmingham Bearcats in the first round of the 2009 NCAA tournament." It later reads, "the Blue Devils are coming off their 17th ACC championship with a win over Florida State on Sunday."  (That's what I like to read.)

Best of all, during the game a small refresh icon in the lower right-hand corner provides information on the score that is updated every minute.

Back at the home screen, if you choose "bracket" you're able to select any of the four current brackets and, when the time comes, the final four. You see the bracket and where your team stands in the rankings. Nice left and right arrows allow you to select the view of any particular round as the parliament progresses.

In all, it's a good way to get information and to see a graphic picture of the brackets during the tournament. The application is free but it does come at the cost of annoying commercial that appears for a few seconds every time you change screens.

Quick Take

Value: Medium to high
Would I Buy Again: Yes, a good free way to check the score
Learning Curve: Low
Who Is It For: BBall Fans
What I Like: Lots of information quickly and easily
What I Don’t:  Ads are super annoying

Final Statement: A better option for getting a quick score update than others out there
