Zombie Vs. Sheep is definitely a unique game.  It’s somewhere between a “space invaders” type game (where the “enemy” just keeps coming  and you need to shoot them) and a boardwalk rifle game.

In Zombie Vs. Sheep, you are a sheep—a sheep with a gun, I guess, but a sheep none the less.

And coming down from the top of the screen (on strings) are various bad guys—skeletons, pirates, and bats.  If you hit the head of a bad guy, it dies and a gold coin falls down.  You can then tilt the phone to move the sheep so it collects the coin.

If you take to long, the enemy will attack you.  The attack varies based on the type of enemy.  Pirates and skeletons will turn into burning heads that fall down at you.  Bats will swoop at you.  If either hits you, you lose a life.

To make it even trickier, your gun only holds a few shots.  To reload, you need to either shake the phone, or tap the bullets.

If you collect enough coins, you can then purchase ‘upgrades’ from the shop.  These include extra lives as well as holding more bullets in your gun at one time.

It’s a very bizarre mix of elements. I have to hand it to the people that made the game, if somebody were to tell me they were going to put all this stuff together, I would have thought they were crazy.  But the pieces do work together, somehow.  The only thing I didn’t like about the game is that it was too monotonous; and as such, I grew bored of it after the first couple of levels.

If you like those midway shooting games when you were a kid, you’ll love this game.  Otherwise, Zombie Vs. Sheep is worth a peek or two, but I don’t think it has any longevity; at least on my phone.

Quick Take

Value: Medium

Would I Buy Again:  Not sure, maybe

Learning Curve: None

Who Is It For: People that like those midway gun games

What I Like:  The graphics are unique and the game controls are good.

What I Don’t: Didn’t have a lot of replay and I got bored of trying to do the same thing over and over again.

Final Statement: This is a unique game, but it doesn’t do it for me.  It may do it for other people though.

Read the Developer's Notes:
