As a business owner, managing every aspect of your business properly is key to your success. However, doing so is easier said than done.  There are meetings to keep track of, accounts to keep in balance, and payroll to manage at any given point throughout the week. One of the best ways to keep all your appointments, paperwork, and bills in line is by turning your smartphone into your personal assistant, and downloading a few quality apps to your smartphone.  Aside from knowing which are the best credit cards to get and downloading personal finance apps, the following apps will benefit both you and your company in the long run:

GoToMeeting is a great free app available to both iPhone or Android phone. It makes attending online meetings possible as it allows you to conduct face-to-face meetings over your phone, no matter where you are. To join a meeting, you simply tap on a link in your email and you can view presentations, reports and anything else the presenter shares. You merely need a Wi-Fi or 3G connection and can both view and listen to the meeting.

SkyDrive is a free app that is available on all Windows Phone handsets that offers 25GB of free storage. There is also a version available for iPhone, however, the iOS version only gives you 7GB of free storage. It is a good tool to have on your phone for storing important business documents so you can access them anytime, anywhere. Additionally, you can share your files with everyone involved in your business, from spreadsheets to memos to photos.

Quick Notes is a great free app for BlackBerry phones that allow you to add notes, even while you’re on a phone call. Essentially, you can record data conveniently and fast simply by pressing a button on your device. This is a great way to record the minutes of a phone meeting for business, as well as any ideas you may conjure up during a think tank meeting.

Remote Desktop Lite is a free app for the iPhone that is ideal for managing your business from afar. With it, you can sync your smartphone to your Windows computer so you can access various files and programs exactly in the same manner as you would if you were sitting right at your desk.  It’s essentially cloud computing in a user friendly format that you are already used to.

When it comes to business, you need all the help you can get to keep operations running and running smoothly.  Don’t shorthand yourself by not taking full advantage of every business app out there.

Documents Free (Mobile Office Suite) is a great free app that can be downloaded to the iPhone. It is a mobile office suite that allows you to create, edit and manage all of your important business documents, from spreadsheets to text files, directly from your iPhone. It works both online and offline and can synchronize your files to your Google Documents account if you have one. You can even open your files on your Windows or Mac computer through the app.
