Rivet KINGPIN Review

There are a few things that I really like about this companies products;  the design elements, ease of use, and product styling.

But what really sets them apart from other similar solutions, is the really high quality of materials used, and the manufacturing process which seem to produce a solid, relible, and stable product.

In addition to the Kingpin, Rivet has a large variety of iPhone mounting solutions.  A few weeks ago…

I reviewed their TREK clip system, which i have been using, and can honestly tell you that it still performs as well as it did the first day i put it on my iPhone, even after daily use and constant moving around between the car mount and clip.

The Kingpin employs the same stainless steel material, but has a very nice chain design.  Its a great solution for anyone who wants to keep their iPhone easily accessible but still securly tied to a belt loop or pocketbook.

Simply clip the Kingpin to your purse strap or belt and put the device in your pocket or bag.  You can always locate it at the end of the chain quickly and conveniently.

The other thing i like about the Rivet products is the quick release system, which in the Kingpins case only requires that you shift the end of the latch back a little to expose the grove that holds the clip mounted to the phone (or case).  The quick release makes it easy to detach the phone and the whole process only takes a second so you won’t miss the call.

I’m not sure if i would trust the adhesive to constantly be yanking the iphone by the chain, but it would definately stop the iphone from crashing down to the ground if the phone came loose in my hand.

Even though we are talking about using this for the iPhone, I have been thinking of a few other items i could attach this to which would make it easier to find things i use regularly in my bag (USB Memory stick anyone?).

Overall, I think this is a great solution which deserves a look if your in the market for this kind of "Mobile Wear".
