reQall News and A Conversation With VP Deb Miller
As I recently posted, I have become a huge fan of reQall. The service itself, the gorgeous, easy to use, resident iPhone application and the responsiveness of the company (all the way to the very top leadership) combine to make it one of the standout productivity applications currently available. It has quickly become one of the most used applications on my iPhone 3G.
I had the opportunity to speak with Deb Miller, reQall’s VP of Products, earlier today and I am now even more enamoured of the company and excited for what comes next.
In talking to Deb two things particularly stood out–
The first is how responsive the folks at reQall are to customer feedback. I wrote about my fantastic experience when I ran into difficulties last week but it is now clear that that kind of responsiveness is the RULE, not the EXCEPTION. As much as the reQall team has a clear vision of where they want to take the product, they are also quite attentive to feature requests on their forums.
Which leads to the really big news…
Some time in the next few days an update to the reQall app will be submitted to Apple for review. Based on prior experience, the review period can last up to two weeks but is often shorter. As a result, we can look forward to an update no later than the first week of September.
What’s new in the next version? How about the ability to edit the notes you create in reQall?
That’s right, based upon the strong feedback they have received, the good folks at reQall have been working hard to add notes editing as a key application function. The work is done and the app is ready.
This is great news since, as good as the transcription accuracy is, (Deb confirmed that it is a combination of both automation and human input) there are often a few errors that can creep in. In addition, between recording a note and receiving its transcription I often find myself wanting to phrase things a bit differently. The ability to edit the notes I get back will make that possible.
We’ll keep you posted on any further news and, of course, post when the new update is released.
My thanks to everyone at reQall for making such a superb service and especially to Deb for taking the time to talk with me today.
