Leave to the iPhone developers to take a classic children’s game that existed long before Nintendo or XBox (it’s probably existed for hundreds of years, actually) and make it into a digital version available free in the App Store. The full version costs $3.99 and comes with more features and customizable levels.
Even the free version comes with a myriad of customizable options. You can turn the sound and music on or off. You can change the sensitivity and the friction of the maze. You can control the number of holes. Plus, you can control certain effects and taps.
The makers of this game really knew their physics. They have the ball dropping out of thin air and even the sides of the "wooden" maze are wobbly. They went above and beyond in giving this game a retro feel.
The objective, of course, is to navigate the silver ball though the maze, around the myriad of holes and into the checkered "finish hole" at the end of each level. The game is timed so you can try to beat your previous speed upon repeated plays. If your ball drops into one of the holes before the finish, it resets back to the beginning of the maze and the clock continues.
The game is simple and the graphics and physics are great. For me, the game would get redundant after a while but despite that it’s a well-thought-out and executed program.
Pros: Good, simple game. Excellent graphics and physics.
Cons: Boring after repeated plays.
