User Rating:With the football season drawing to a the kind of climax that we haven’t seen in years at the top of the table, now is a better time than any to start getting clued up on where you can catch the biggest games in your local area.
MatchPint (which by the name you’d think is some kind of Tennis app for pissheads) lets you do just that, as it shows what matches are playing in the pubs around you. The app is simple to browse, allowing you to browse it either by match or by pubs that show sport.
The app lets you create a profile using either e-mail or Facebook, through which you can share your pub location with your mates. On your profile you can set up your favourite pubs, matches and teams meaning that you can quickly and instantly track down the specific matches that interest you.
The app is extremely intuitive and fast-working, and is very to-the-point about its function. You want to track down a match, you can do so within seconds. One small criticism of MatchPint is that while it tracks down the majority of pubs, there are quite a few in my local area that it doesn’t find. This can hopefully be fixed as more pubs go on the system, and doesn’t take away from a great idea as we approach the olympics in the summer and the exciting final quarter of the football season.
Quick Take
Value:High.
Would I Buy Again:Yes.
Learning Curve:Low.
Who Is It For:Footy fans, not Tennis fans.
What I Like:It tracks down football and pubs, what more do you need to know?
What I Don't Like:Doesn't track down enough pubs.
Final Statement:A simple, functional app for tracking down the big games in your local area.
Personalise your MatchPint experience by picking your favourite pubs, sports and teams, and let MatchPint suggest your ideal location to go and watch your match. Share with your Facebook friends where you'll be watching the game, and get them to join you there.
Whether you're looking to watch the Champions league final, or Olympic curling, MatchPint has the answer.
