Doodle Tales is a free, universal kids’ application that allows children to tell a story and share them among an online community. In short, it’s Draw Something for kids (slightly less competitive, but not much).
In short, the app allows a child to create his or her own storybook. He/she can draw pictures on a background and put in some text and background images. You can even save the initial doodles that are drawn to your device’s library, e-mail them or post them to Facebook.
Despite being free, Europress still needs to make some money. There are content packs one can buy to add new images to any doodle. Otherwise, the child in question is pretty much relying on his/her own talent for pictures. Not that it’s necessarily a bad thing.
Of course, Doodle Tales comes with some backgrounds (that you still have to color in) and you can even add sound to your doodle. This app actually has the most drawing features I’ve seen since Sketch Book Pro. Adult artists should consider using this app for the near-infinite capability-to-price ratio.
The app takes a few minutes to learn however tutorials are provided and if you get lost, you can tap the question mark icon and that shows what every other icon is for. Tap the question mark again to turn this feature off.
Registration is required for sharing your child’s creative genius with the digital world. Once one adjusts, the app is fairly simple to use. Doodle Tales is seriously recommended for anybody that has kids with artistic talent and/or interest.

Doodle tales is aimed at children from preschool right through to early teens and allows them to be creative by making their own pictures (Doodles) and stories (Tales) and sharing them simply and safely with their friends, relatives and the wider world.

Key Features of the app include:
-Paint area: There are a large number of tools which you can use to create your images. These include a variety of brushes, shapes, stamps, text, borders, backgrounds – and you can even add audio narration if your image is to be a page in your story.
-Story editor: You can easily combine any pages you have created to make a story. Pages can be added, deleted, reordered, played and saved using simple tools.
-Community: A big part of Doodle Tales is how easy it is to share your creations with other users… and also to see what other people are up to. You can search for stories/pictures in a number of ways. And once you have found something that you like the look of you can rate it, and leave comments for the Doodler who created it.
Two “official licensed” in app purchase content packs are also available – from LazyTown (the multi-award winning show that promotes healthy activities) and Numberjacks (the top rated CBBC numeracy hit), each pack contains a number of themed stickers, backgrounds and patterned brushes.
