User Rating:iExplorer HD does so many things that I still wonder what it can’t do. Like the proverbial Swiss knife, it’s always up to the task.
iExplorer HD the first thing is of course, connecting to remote servers. Which kind of server? Many. Many! I’ll just mention the ones I use: Dropbox, Google Docs and any kind of WebDAV server. Everything covered with this for me, but the app still has room for many more (Box.net, SkyDrive…) Once you have added a service, you authenticate it and ta-daaa! Start reading files or moving files from the remote server to your device via iExplorer HD. Cool.
iExplorer HD comes with readers for many file types. Of course it can read PDFs (comes with a beautiful albeit simple PDF reader,) but where it shines is in the odd things it can read. It can seamlessly read ePUB and CHM files, which are usually the bane of a lot of iPad apps. It can also connect seamlessly with your Google Docs, allowing you full editing powers to your spreadsheets and documents. You can also use iExplorer HD as a network video streamer, to watch movies (or listen to music) you have in your cloud services. Handy, handy.
Bluetooth file sharing, ZIP and unZIP, AirPrint support, syntax highlighting for source code files are just the tip of the iceberg of what iExplorer HD has to offer. Check it out, it’s a good one.
In short: iExplorer HD is like the Swiss knife: does a lot of things well.
