It isn’t common for Apple to tune a device specifically to a country but the same would not be said towards China. Based on the Chinese tech website Sina Tech, it was reported that Apple would soon be implementing Baidu as one of the search engines in the iOS devices such as iPad, iPhone and the iPod Touch. This report was made according to a claim made from their “knowledgeable sources”.

Baidu is the country’s biggest search engine with more than 80% of the market share belonging to that particular website. Due to this, it is of no surprise that Apple has decided on the inclusion of the search engine to its list of search engines in the iOS. However, it is also said that this would not be taking place until the next software update which is said to be available next month. However, it is unknown whether Apple will go into length into enabling the search engine by default for devices that are sold in China.

In other news, there is a jailbreak tweak which would allow iOS app updates to be made available at the iOS notification center. This is possible through the use of AppUpdateNotifier tweak which is available through the Cydia installer.
