Apple fails to get off iCloud and Push email bans in Germany

A month ago, Motorola Mobility managed to get two key Apple services which are the iCloud and push email service to be banned in Germany. This is because the two devices is said to have been violating the patents that Motorola has already filed and secured. Like any wise company would do, Apple had filed an appeal to the regional court as to hope that it would reconsider the decision made by the lower court.

However, Apple seems to have left being disappointed because the regional court decided to upheld the decision made by the lower court. To make things worst against Apple, the court also decided to force Apple to pay damages to Motorola due to the usage of their unlicensed patents in the two applications.

With that being said and done, one can only imagine the consequence of this decision for the customers in Germany. The two applications are considered vital in the day-to-day usage of any iOS devices and without it, it may give potential customers the choice of reconsidering other devices instead. What’s known is that this move will likely cost Apple millions of dollars in damages from not only paying the damages to Motorola but also from losing potential customers.
