When traveling, I occasionally get the urge to listen to the radio, but carrying another device is just too much for me, so I deal with it. I try to pack light so that I can move quickly and not leave anything behind. What I didn’t realize, however, is that I could have downloaded Sirius XM onto my mobile phone, plugged in my hands free headset, and listen to live radio on the go.

The Sirius XM application allows users to listen to satellite radio whenever and wherever they wish. Had I known this before, I would have had many business trips not seem so grueling. There are channels specific to each genre of music, talk radio, sports channels, a grateful dead channel, comedy channels and so much more. Simply pay for a premium subscription and 120 different channels are yours to listen to. Most of them are also commercial free.

Other similar applications include Pocket Tunes Radio and ooTunes Radio 2.1. However, Sirius offers much more in the way of channels. And if you’re already a Sirius XM subscriber, you can start streaming immediately. You won’t need to purchase another subscription to play your satellite radio on your phone.

All-in-all, you shouldn’t be left without music when you want it. If you’re sitting in the airport or you need something to listen to on the plane, Sirius XM makes a great addition to your mobile phone’s arsenal of entertainment applications.
