For those who live in or near major earthquake zones, or even for those who are simply interested in serious geologic activities, the Quakes app will be a wonderful and remarkably informative tool. It alerts users to earthquakes that have occurred anywhere in the world, as long as they reach a certain strength.

Those using the Quakes app will be able to open it and see a constantly revised listing of the most recent earthquakes that have taken place anywhere in the world. In order to register on the app, however, the quake must be more than a 2.5 on the Richter Scale and be reported by the Earthquake.gov agency.
