User Rating:I’m not a huge fan of greeting cards. I’ve never been much for spending a few dollars on a card that will be looked at for about five seconds. I know, I know, before you start yelling and attacking, it’s not about the card it’s about the thought behind it. But still, I’m not a huge fan.
At the same time there’s something about and e-mail of thanks that’s quickly dashed off that just doesn’t cut it.
That’s why I’m so taken by the concept of HiCards. On an iPhone they work especially well at filling the space between expensive greeting cards and all but meaningless e-mails.
HiCards It is a super easy implementation of iCards that’s quick and easy to use without being overly cheesy and silly. They make it simple to send a card or a note to someone anywhere in the world without having to go and pick up a card or deal with the post office. This suite includes 92 different handcrafted designs. There are 15 "hello" cards, 10 and birthday cards, 11 thank you cards, 19 holiday cards, and 18 different blank or miscellaneous cards. Best of all, the list is constantly growing and changing.
When you first start the application you’re offered for different choices — birthdays, Yankees, holidays, and blank and miscellaneous. The first thing you want to do is tap the information button in the upper right hand side of the screen. That immediately brings you into the preferences page where you’re able to input your name (as you want it to appear on your cards), and your e-mail address and whether or not you want to receive a copy of the card. (I personally always choose yes because that helps ensure that the card actually went out.)
Since Christmas is about to arrive I tapped "holiday" and chose "Christmas Santa". I tapped the icon in the upper right hand side of the screen and entered both the person set to receive a card and the message I wanted to share. once I had done that I hit "send" and I was good to go.
Quick Take
Value: High, I really like this concept in the way it finds the middle point between greeting cards and e-mail
Would I Buy Again: Absolutely
Learning Curve: Very Low, That’s Part of the Appeal
Who is it for: anyone who wants to send out a greeting in a quick, easy fast manner
What I like: Easy Use, And a Selection of Cards, Makes Reaching out and Touching Someone Fun and Easy
What I Don’t: Nothing Comes to Mind Actually
Final Statement: When I First Received This Application For You I Really Thought It Was Going to Be Cheesy. It Isn’t. It Works Really Well And It’s a Nice Common Different Way To Connect with People Electronically Will Not Feeling so Impersonal
