User Rating:As with all up and coming celebrities, we all want the latest gossip and hot topics regarding them but most of us probably find it too tedious a chore to scroll through dozens of websites. That’s where mobile apps likeAmerican Idol Official come in handy.
To quote the app description, get all your Idol news right on your iPhone and iPad. Want to know what these rising singers have to say? Check the app. Want to know what opinions are forming in the heads of the Idol judges? Check the app. Want exclusive footage and extras? Check the app.
American Idol Official even allows users to vote for their favorite contestants through the app itself.
The app organizes itself neatly where clear and specific headers denote each function for easy access. The layout kinda reminds me of the way Windows mobile devices have reinvented themselves with the pane like navigational structures. I loved how neat and tidy everything was where filtering through tons of information was very convenient and easy on the eyes. Users are given accessed to the twitter feeds of idols and judges alike, as well as frequent updates on the competition and even a countdown to the next episode.
The only gripe I had would be the color scheme of the app. While I understand where the developers are coming from by having the background color a matching shade of blue as the hue on the official American Idol logo, it did seem a little dull to me. While the upside was that the color was not specifically glaring on the eye, the white font made it hard to read bits of information at times. But overall the app gave a very pleasant navigating experience.
Idol fans, do not miss out on this.
