Now that all my friends are having kids, I keep forgetting more and more birthdays. Not a good idea, as young moms especially can get very testy if you miss Junior’s big day. They’re all in my calendar, but who has time to check their calendar? Well, German developer Diethard Seiferth has come up with AroundCal, a task and time management app that should make it easy to never miss a birthday again. Oh, and it works a treat for business events as well!

AroundCal was built around the iPhone calendar, so it is automatically in sync with the iPhone Calendar App. It’s very easy to take a meeting or appointment and reschedule or copy by tapping and paste by double tapping. It also has a lot of trimmings: if you have several appointments on the same day and some are more important than others, you can easily add priority to certain appointments, pictures and notes, checkable lists and even voice memos. Oh, and there’s a special grocery list option as well if you want to go shopping!

I loved the ease of use that AroundCal offers. This app uses the original iPhone Event User Interface for adding events and the iPhone’s address book user interface for (birthday) events. So anyone who’s having a birthday simply pops up, including his or her telephone number, email and street address. Now you can forever be That Thoughtful Friend…
