User Rating:As per the app title suggests, Birds On A Wire is an alternative take at the popular Zuma franchise a few years ago. Instead of having a frog spit out marbles, users launch birds to arrange in matching colors of 3 or more. The objective of the game is to clear the whole wave of birds before they reach the large bird statue.
To start off, Birds On A Wire hardly provide anything to discern itself from the traditional Zuma game. Besides the obvious visual changes and the overly simplistic paths taken by the bird chain, there was nothing else to differentiate itself from the classic. I did like the ability to ricochet your shots off walls and specific arrow paths that redirect your birds though, as these when timed well do help achieve a better score.
In terms of gameplay, again, Birds On A Wire does not offer much extras from the classic. While normal colored birds are available all the time, powered up ones such as bombs, etc, are also available through a points system that users accumulate as the game progresses. I did find this a tad bit more interesting as you can exercise a little more control over your power shots as compared to having power ups appear randomly in Zuma.
For a game priced at $0.99, I would say that this game is worth a buck. While it hardly differs from the timeless classic, Birds On A Wire is a pretty decent game on its own.
