Editorial note- we previously reviewed 300 Bowl but here is a second look from a different perspective…

From the Developers Website:

“300 Bowl is the only true bowling simulation with a realistic view of the bowling alley.

Use your finger to toss the ball down the lane. Give it a curve or toss it straight and true, its all up to you.

With unparalleled sound and graphics, you feel as though you are in your own personal lane.

300 Bowl is a fun way to play a quick 10 frames without renting an ugly pair of bowling shoes. The speed of the game is fast, with the ball quickly hitting the pins and there is not much downtime between shots.

The sound effects in the game add to 300 Bowls realistic feel, with the sounds of a ball rolling and pins being smashed and scattered. Play alone, against a computerized opponent or play a friend in two player mode, handing the phone off between turns.

View the full scorecard during a game or at the end of a game by tapping on the score display.”

OUR TAKE

If you fancy trekking the lanes in rented shoes, wearing a team shirt, You will enjoy this game.  It is a very close to real reproduction of bowling.  Without worrying about a shoulder.

300 Bowl is available in several languages.  You have the option of playing in 3D mode or the “classic” 2D mode.  You can play by yourself, Yourself against the computer, and by passing the device between players.

For increased challenge, you can adjust the Lane Oil, and the Throw Difficulty.

Play is fairly straight forward.  Position your finger where you wish to start from, then move your finger toward the pins.  How fast you move your finger determines the power of the throw.  If you curve your finger in it’s travel, you will add spin to the ball.  It is possible to have the ball move from one side of the lane to the other and back.  Something that would earn you beer from those watching if it could be done on a true lane.

Graphics in 3D mode are excellent.  Sounds are very reminiscent of being at a bowling ally.

Value:  Good

Would I Buy Again: Yepper’s

Learning Curve:  None to speak of

Who is it For:  People who like bowling.

My Likes:   Good graphics, realistic physics.  No requirement to wear rented shoes.

My Dislikes:   No beer provided at the alley.

Final Statement:  Great game to pass the time.

My Rating: 3.5 of 5
