If you thought 2011 was a good year for Apple, then wait until you hear these projections for 2012.

Canaccord Genuity Analyst, Michael Walkley, recently released his projections for he coming year, and they are pretty interesting. He sees 2012 being another huge year for Apple, with sales of 116.4 million iPhones and 54.6 million iPads.

Walkley adds that he expects iOS to own 18 percent of the mobile operating system share, only to be topped by Google with their Android.

Furthermore he adds that he believes that ” Apple sold through at least 12 million iPhone units in the U.S. market during the December quarter alone” also numbers indicate that during December the iPhone 4S was the best selling smartphone for the carriers where it is carried.

When looking at the predictions for the iPad, Walkley states that he expects Apple’s marketshare in 2012 to drop from around 63% to 53%, however he still estimates sales of 55 million units.

Outside the U.S., Walkley stated that the iPhone has seen strong growth in many country’s with the biggest growth taking place in countries such as Brazil and Russia, furthermore he adds that the forthcoming launch of the iPhone 4S in China will help increase the worldwide sales for Apple.

It wil be interesting to see how many units Apple actually sells, what do you think will Apple continue to dominate the tablet market or will they face serious competition?
