Yesterday Apple announced a new milestone, the Cupertino company stated that the iTunes Store now has more than one billion podcast subscriptions. The iTunes Store holds more than  250,000 different podcasts in more than 100 languages, with more than 8 million episodes, reports Macworld.

Apple has opened a special section in the iTunes Store dedicated to the huge number of subscriptions.

According to Macworld, podcast creators like NPR are happy with the support, too. “We’ve been podcasting basically since the iPod came out in 2001,” said Zach Brand, vice president of digital media for NPR, then adding “We have a very healthy partnership with Apple,” Brand said. “They come out with great products and we have great content, and they work great together.”
