I don’t know about you guys but personally I think there is nothing worse than trying to beat the highscore in a game just to find that the top score was gained by cheating or hacking the system.

Unfortunately this is a huge problem with Game Center as it has been too easy for gamers to hack the leadership boards and add outrageous scores. Now it seems tho as if Apple is finally starting to fight this problem by granting developers the chance to delete fake Game Center scores  as well as permanently block those gamers that are cheating.

According to their developers site:

You can now view and manage the top 100 scores and usernames for all of your Game Center leaderboards. Protect your legitimate players by signing in to iTunes Connect to delete fake scores or block players that post fake scores. You can also restore scores and players within the same time period. To learn more, read the Managing Game Center Leaderboard Activity section in the iTunes Connect Developer Guide.

It will be interesting to see if any developers will start deleting fake scores and if they will actually ban players, while it might be possible for smaller studios I think large game developers might have an impossible task on their hands.
