Apple to get temporary closure in Italy due to product warranty

The problem about selling products in multiple countries is that there are different laws for each country. Apparently, in the case of Italy, it will be costing Apple a lot of money. This is because in Italy, the law requires the companies to provide two years’ of warranty for their products. However, Apple has not been doing that unless the user decides to enroll to its AppleCare+ plan.

Previously, Apple had already been fined for more than $1.2 million due to inadequate disclosure on the customer’s rights for free technical support for two years. If this matter isn’t fixed in 30 days, Apple might get a temporary ban from selling its products in the market along with a hefty fine of up to 300,000 Euros. As mentioned before, the Italian law requires the manufacturers to give warranty of two years on their products and Apple is one of the companies that has failed to do so.

It is interesting to see how this turns out because if Apple decides to bail out from Italy, it would be losing a lot of potential customers in the long run. The longest that we can wait is 30 days before seeing how Apple respond to this “threat”
