Apple TV is no longer just a hobby

For a very long time an upgrade has been rumored for the Apple TV, however Apple executives have been saying the set-top box was just a hobby, something they’re tinkering with for the fun of it.

Perhaps this is also the reason why the Apple TV was always hidden away as an accessory and not a full-fledged Apple product with their own section. Well as of yesterday that is all a thing of the past, Apple.com has been updated to feature the Apple TV alongside the Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod.

The new section comes with tabs for quick access to Apple TV accessories, Community Q&A as well as the store where you can purchase refurbished units.

Personally I think this can’t possibly be a coincidence, there must be a reason why the Apple Store website was updated. With an update being rumored for ages I think this new update to the website is just one more reason to believe that an update is happening sometime in the near future.
