Well this is indeed very interesting, According to a report from the Wall Street Journal Orbitz points users of its online web travel booking service to different options depending on whether those users use a Mac or a PC.

According to the report, Orbitz Worldwide Inc. has concluded that users of Mac computers can spend as much as 30% more a night on hotels. They defend their decision for showing higher priced hotel rooms with this data.

According to chief scientist Wai Gen Yee, Mac user are 40% more likely to purchase a more expensive hotel room than PC users are.

Why is this? Well according to Forrester Research, “the average income for adult Mac users is about $25,000 more than that of PC owners.”

What do you think is it fair to point users to more expensive hotels merely because they used a Mac to visit your site?
