5 Best Twitter Clients for iPhone
Twitter is second only to Facebook in its Social coverage and the problem with maintaining so many users is that, they are always looking for better ways to experience the platform. And as such, developers are struggling to make the best Twitter clients for iPhone and iPad. Here is a guide to help you choose the best for your iPhone, based on your needs and budget.
Tweetbot ($2.99)
Tweetbot is undoubtedly the best way to enjoy Twitter on your iPhone. Looks, navigation and functionality are equally crafted to perfection. The simple yet attractive interface along with subtle responsive sound effects make tweeting a pleasure. Multiple timelines is a major highlight and helps keep your stories sorted. Smart gestures that makes sense and customizable navigations are extra bonuses. The only problem I found is that it isn’t an universal app and hence, you’ll have to spend 3 bucks again if you want it on your iPad.
Twitter (Free)
Praising Tweetbot doesn’t mean that the official app is useless. If you’re looking for a free and universal client, Twitter app is the way to go. Though there isn’t anything super exciting or eye-popping, this app surely gets your things done. The complete Twitter experience in a compact package, one could say. Also, Twitter integration into iOS 6 requires the installation of the app. So you might want to check it out anyway.
Hootsuite (Free)
This is not a Twitter exclusive client. Instead you can control your Facebook, Linkedin and FourSquare alongside. Either use your free plan or upgrade to Pro and enjoy your Hootsuite account to the fullest. Not only is it a must have for power users, but also the best tool for corporates and enterprise teams. With features like scheduling, multiple updates, translation and insights, you can maximize your Company’s social presence.
Echofon Pro ($4.99)
Echofon Pro brings some unique features to the Twitter experience on iOS. Real-time timeline update and push notifications; LiveLinks and lightning fast interface to save some precious time; Threaded conversations, tweeting over 140 characters and simultaneous use of multiple accounts; Full size images with Photo box effect and video tweets. If you think these feature would come in handy, Echofon is worth the price.
Twitterific 5 ($2.99)
This is one of the first clients I used and to be honest, I really liked it. If you’re a normal user looking for a premium experience, Twitterific would be my advice. Twitterific is simple, powerful and beautiful. Of course, it has all those basic functionalities you’re looking for and in addition, much more to make the journey joyful. VoiceOver support and the dark theme for night browsing are unique. iCloud support and the highly customizable looks are also appreciable. Various filters, simple gestures and pull to refresh. Plenty of cross platform share options and support of various ‘Read it Later’ services are other useful additions.
