Food and Drink section added to App Store

Apple App Store has millions of applications in it. In fact, each of them are properly categorized so that it would be much easier for people to discover new apps based on these categories. It is not uncommon for Apple to add new categories based on the availability of of the application for that particularly new category. That is why when Apple decided to add a new ‘Food and Drink’ category to the app store, we weren’t really taken by surprise.

There are thousands of applications dedicated to both food and drinks. With this being said and done, it makes complete sense for Apple to add a new category for these apps. Thus, the ‘Food and Drink’ category was added by Apple to its App Store. In addition to that, all developers that have apps based on this category was also informed by Apple about the new changes to its App Store. These applications will be migrated to the new category as well.

Since its launch, this category has found more than 2800 paid apps and 4000 free iPhone apps. There are also apps made for iPad in both paid and free section of the App Store. With this being said and done, it would definitely make it easier for people to get these apps.
