Install iOS 5 now without a Dev Account

So you are all jazzed up after the keynote, but you don’t want to wait for the 12th to get your iOS device all supped up with wireless syncing and non-modal notifications. Step 1 – Install iTunes Beta

Step 2 – Download the iOS firmware

Next you will need the appropriate iOS software for your device.

Step 3 – Install your software

AFTER BACKING UP YOUR DEVICE you simply hold the Alt key (or shift key if you are on windows) while clicking the restore button. iTunes will then prompt you to locate the .ipsw file that you downloaded earlier. Then the restore will take place and you can go get some coffee.

Once it is done it will prompt you to restore from a backup and then it will sync.
