Microsoft bans employees from using funds to buy Apple products

It seems that the competitiveness of Microsoft and Apple has taken to another turn. This is because recently, an internal memo was distributed to Microsoft employees stating that the company’s funds will not be used to purchase any Apple products. This includes the iPhone, Mac, iPad and other devices which may have associations to Apple.

This policy might have supposed to be implemented a long time ago but we are nevertheless surprised on why it has been released now. Nevertheless, ZDNet respondent, Foley stated that Microsoft has replied with a “no comment” on that particular internal memo though chances are, it would most probably be true. This memo has been taken in effect in the US offices already but it would take some time before it would be taken into full effect by other overseas office.

In other news, it was found that not only did the iOS 5.1 improved or introduced a few new features that we have mentioned before, it had also changed a few things about Siri as well. The virtual personal assistant works better thanks to its integration with Yelp. This means that the US based users will be able to find a lot of places through Siri when they update to the new iOS 5.1.
