Netflix adding user profiles to Apple TV

In the past few days Netflix has started adding user profiles to their App for the Apple TV. The personalized profile feature, was announced earlier this year and is expected to be launched sometime during August. Individual user profiles will allow users of shared Netflix accounts to select a unique profile when accessing the service. This means that the suggestions will be tailored directly for the users, parents can also create unique profiles for their children and block what programs they can see.

The service is still in its infancy and therefore profiles cannot be changed you also cannot add a new user, however if you already have a profile with Netflix then you will be able yo see the new option when starting the App on your Apple TV.

As a HUGE Netflix user I must admit I am very stoked about this new option. Sometimes I find it rather annoying that Netflix recommends movies based on what other family members have recently watched, especially since our taste in movies varies a lot. What about you, will you use this new feature?
