Public Relations Vice President Katie Cotton leaving Apple
According to a report in Re/code Katie Cutton is retiring from Apple, after having been with the company for almost two decades she now wants to spend more time with her children.
Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said “Katie has given her all to this company for over 18 years,” adding “She has wanted to spend time with her children for some time now. We are really going to miss her.”
Katie Cotton held the position of Vice President of worldwide corporate communications at Apple, working under both Steve Jobs and Tim Cook. According to Cutton it was a very difficult decision since Apple is a part of her heart.
What is interesting about this departure is the fact that quite a few high ranking Apple employees have recently decided to leave the company. First Peter Oppenheimer announced he will exit at the end of September, very recently Greg Christie announced he too will be leaving the company before the end of the year.
