Rumors: Next iPhone to have 4-inch display
On April 11, 2012
It is now common to find smartphones that have a 4-inch or more. In fact, the newly released HTC One comes with a 4.7-inch display with Super AMOLED but the iPhone still dwarfs the rest with its 3.5-inch Retina display. Although it may be one of the best screens in the market, its small form factor still makes it less engaging than other phones.
However, that might change in the future with the next iPhone because it is rumoured to have a 4-inch display. In fact, the word is that Apple will change the aspect ratio from 3:2 to 9:5 which would make the new screen to be taller than the old one. Having a bigger screen is definitely important to Apple because they are losing grounds against other smartphone devices.
In other news, the United States carriers are planning to start a database which would have the information of all stolen phones. This database will be centralized to one place so that all carriers will benefit from the information and not just certain ones. The database will be done by four major carriers in the US along with the help of the government. It will allow the authorities to not only locate but also disable the mobile phones as well.
