Sharp will be manufacturing iPhone 5 display panel

Sharp is well known for its displays and as such, it is to no surprise that Apple gets the display for its devices from the company. When it comes to the next generation iPhone, one of the companies that will be manufacturing the iPhone 5 display panel is Sharp. This statement was said by no other than the company’s president, Takashi Okuda.

Takashi Okuda had stated so in an effort to end the financial report of the company on a high note. He had also slipped than one of the companies that have been contracted by Apple to create the display panel of the next iPhone is Sharp but no information was revealed on whom the other companies were. As far as the shipments are concerned, Sharp will be delivering them by August which means that the September announcement date would most probably be correct.

If the rumors prove to be right, the next iPhone will have a longer, 4-inch profile and this would be the first time since the launch of the original iPhone that there will be a different screen size. Whatever it may be, September 12 is the date to wait for as this is the launch date of the iPhone 5.
