Siri’s competitor Evi might get the boot from App Store

It isn’t out of the norm whenever Apple decided to remove an application from its App Store. Chances are, the application might be in violation of some of the company’s terms and conditions. However, when True Knowledge released an app called Evi in January, it raised a few questions especially when the app works so much like Siri although for non-iPhone 4S devices.

Evi currently costs $0.99 and has experienced more than 200,000 downloads in its lifetime as of date. It works a lot like Siri but it doesn’t integrate with any iPhone applications as of date. Some of the things that Evi can do include voice/text inputs, information on places in US and UK, adaptable AI and many more. In fact, for some, it can be a replacement for Siri especially for those that do not have an iPhone 4S as it can do a lot of things that Siri can do with considerable accuracy as well.

However, Evi might not be here for long because True Knowledge recently received a call from Richard Chipman of Apple. He said that Apple will soon put down the app from its App Store as it violates the rule number 8.3 in the company’s T&C which means that it is similar to a functionality brought by Apple. Thus, this application that has won the hearts of many, might be getting the boot in the future.
