Apple’s Market Capitalization Hits $500 Billion, Stock Up 34% in 2012
Not only is Apple’s stock currently trading at more than $500 a piece, the company reached $500 billion in market capitalization. Apple passed the milestone in after-hours trading yesterday, but has just now passed it in regular trading as the trading day opens.
Amazingly enough, Apple’s stock growth has only accelerated in February as anticipation for the iPad 3 and optimism over the company’s continued strong financial performance has attracted investors. As Apple hits the $500 billion market cap milestone and is currently sitting at over $507 billion, it is now up over 34% in the first two months of 2012.
Apple to update Apple TV at March 7th event (RUMOR) 
Rumors about an imminent Apple TV update have been swirling around the internet recently. Sources are stating that Apple will unveil an updated version during their March 7th Event. Even Apple’s own stores are beginning to see shortages of the device as Apple draws down supplies ahead of the refresh. While the company’s online store is still reflecting an “in stock” status, those customers opting for the in-store pickup option will find that many Apple retail stores are currently out of stock.
Apple updates Apple Store app
Apple has updated its official Apple Store app, now available for free on the App Store. The new update allows for options to manage your account and billing right on the phone. You can also browse through all of the various carriers available for Apple’s iPhone. For those of you in the Netherlands, the app is available for you now, too.
Apple releases iMac Graphic, MacBook Pro EFI firmware updates
It seems as if Apple has been focused on releasing EFI updates lately, it hasn’t been more than a few weeks since the previous EFI updates released by Apple that address graphics problems in the iMac and select MacBook Pro models, and now the Cupertino company is at it again. The iMac update fixes a graphics issue in Lion that would lock up the all-in-one machine, while the MacBook Pro update targets 15-inch, late 2008 models with a flickering display.
