Stone Design has just released an update to Twittelator Pro.
Version 1.3.1 adds stability, better memory management. the ability to insert dingbat characters in your tweets (like ♥ ? ? ? ? ? ? ?) and more.
A full description of the features in version 1.3.1 can be found here. Twittelator Pro is available for $4.99 HERE in the App Store.
As our Twitter client of choice we highly recommend checking out this full-featured app.
I find myself using Evernote more and more. As I do, I find myself having two very different reactions to it.
On the one hand, I find it to be a truly amazing app.
The ability to take written notes (and now edit them so long at they are in plain text), take voice notes of up to five minutes, take snapshot notes using the camera or from the photo album is amazing. The search feature is awesome, and the way in which Evernote makes use of the iPhone’s location-feature is nothing short of ingenious. (Search notes taken from the spot you are currently in… neat!). Finally, the fact that both Macs, my old TabletPC, my iPhone and my iPod Touch, all share the same data is fantastic. All of this goes to make Evernote an amazing “can’t live without it” iPhone app.
On the other hand, there is a huge limitation to Evernote’s functionality.
The fact that Evernote still doesn’t support saving notes on the device itself is frustrating, at best. Other apps do it, but not Evernote, and this is a huge limitation since I cannot always be guaranteed to have a connection to their servers.
It is the end of September and I am not the only one getting more than a bit impatient. Over on Evernote’s forums the natives are getting restless about the native app.
Here are a few choice posts–
It was brought to my attention that QuickSend, an App we showed little love (for good reason) has received an update.
Taking a fresh look at the app I am reminded of the commercial that states “Milk: It Does A Body Good” only in this case it would be “Update: It Does An App Good”. That’s right, QuickSend just went form “Ehh” to “Awesome”.
Quicksend is one of a growing number of apps that lets you send quick, pre-formatted emails in seconds with the fewest number of taps possible.
I previously panned it because the pre-formatted text could not be edited and, with over 1800 contacts in my address book, having to scroll through them all in order to find the one I wanted was anything but “Quick”.
All it took were too little changes to make this app truly usable.
Sketches, the iPhone app that lets you draw and edit on the iPhone and iPod Touch was just updated to version 1.3.
To celebrate the update it is currently on sale- down to $1.99 from $4.99 until October 4th. Cheaper and better… hmmm, not a bad combination.
The update includes–
We’ve been following the whole “Internet Radio is about to implode due to the greed of the RIAA”-thing as closely as possible.
Apparently there has been huge movement on it in recent days and, some time tomorrow, it will come to a head.
As a Pandora member, I just received an email from Pandora’s head honcho asking all users for help, that suggests things are, thankfully, moving in a positive way for those of us who love internet radio.
The email states…
The options for creating and editing text on the iPhone and iPod Touch continue to grow and improve. Since July 11th many apps have added the option to create and edit text with the iPhone held in landscape. This is a significant improvement since it means a far larger keyboard. I find that I am able to type faster and with greater accuracy this way than with the iPhone held in portrait.
My favorite text editor has recently been WriteRoom. A simple (not rich-text) writing app, WriteRoom allowed for landscape typing and offered distraction-free typing on a simple screen with a black background and white text. For me, however, WriteRoom has just been surpassed by TextGuru.
Jott’s iPhone app received an update earlier today.
While the update doesn’t add any new features it does bring big performance improvements.
As you may recall Jott came out of Beta a few weeks ago. As part of that transition Jott added a number of paid account levels.
Fortunately there is still a free basic level available and it offers some excellent productivity tools. These include access to the simple, yet effective, Jott iPhone app which, after today’s update, is better than ever.
The update brings…
Last week’s poll asked how many of us would be willing to pay a small subscription fee in order to keep Pandora going. 2/3s of respondents said they would.
Now, that may not be necessary.
Earlier today my friend Wayne Schulz over at Gear Diary brought the fact that Pandora now has ads on every page to my attention.
If that means Pandora just figured out a way to stay afloat, I’m all for it!
I just hope the next step isn’t commercials between songs. If it comes to that I’m done with Pandora.
For now though, here’s hoping they found a new model that is a win-win for us all.
The Tag Show is a fun app that lets you view slide shows of public image feeds. We’ve been using it for a while and really like it.
The new update
I’ve been having lots of fun with the iPhone version of Line Rider since its release last week. I am still amazed by the ability to take something originally meant for a desktop computer and re-create the experience on the iPhone. If you haven’t tried LineRider it is well worth it.
What is LineRider? As the developer explains,
