I have loved Sena’s leather cases ever since getting my first one many years (and devices) ago.
Sena’s cases are always made from the finest leather, have styles that are both fashionable and functional and, are well-priced.
Best of all, right not there are two ways to save on Sena’s excellent iPhone and iPod Touch cases.
Over the past week we’ve taken look at a number of various applications designed for managing your Netflix queue from your iPhone or iPod Touch. It’s been interesting process for me look at all of the applications in a certain category, for during the process I’ve gotten a real sense of how various developers can approach crafting an application. It only serves to increase my respect for the men and women who are devoting countless hours to rapidly developing the newest platform in computing. In this final post I’ll give a brief overview and draw a few conclusions.
First off let me say this — while some apps were more polished, graphically interesting, or user-friendly than others, there weren’t any in this group that were bad. There were some I liked more than others but not once did I look at an app and think- "somebody did a lousy job and just rushed this out so that they could have something in the App Store." And believe me, there have been many times since July 11th when I thought just that. Not once here!
I was struck that a few of the applications covered only half the ground I wanted covered. While some were excellent at managing the Netflix queue for physical DVDs, they completely overlooked the instant queue which is such an important part of Netflix now. In other cases, the application was specifically intended for managing the instant queue but overlooked the physical DVD queue entirely. It seems curious to me why anyone would want to have two different applications rather than one that integrates both parts. But that’s just me.
So which application will remain on my iPhone and my iPod touch now that this series is done? The answer is clear…
I’ve had a chance to review a couple of Agent18 products over on Gear Diary and was rather impressed. Both the FlowerVest Case for the Gen1 iPod Touch and the MacBook Air Shield I reviewed provide excellent, low-profile protection. They currently offer a nice selection of cases for both the iPhone "Classic" and the iPhone 3G.
Recognizing that times are tough all over, Agent18 is offering a nice, pre-holiday gift to all. Use the coupon code HappyMerry08 when making any purchase on their website from now until January 8, 2009 and you’ll receive an additional 20% off the order.
Orders must be over $10 but the code applies to every product on the Agent 18 website.
Do you love the iPhone but think the camera leaves a little (a LOT!!!) to be desired?
Me too!
Which is why the Clarifi from Griffin is such a cool little iPhone accessory.
The Clarifi is a hard slip-on case (similar to the Contour Flick case we reviewed last week) with a twist- it has a built-in lens that, when slid over the iPhone’s camera makes a world of difference.
Griffin sent me one a few weeks back and I’ve been super impressed. I posted a full review over on Gear Diary which you can check out HERE.
I’ll be laying a bit low the next few days as I had wrist surgery earlier today.
While the surgery went well the aftermath promises to be "interesting". I have been told to expect that, for at least the next week or so, I’ll be very happy that someone invented powerful pain medication. Moreover for the next 8-12 weeks I won’t have use of my right hand. That means no more rapid two thumb typing on the iPhone which is an issue since I do a good bit of my emailing, note-taking and posting from it.
Since the iPhone is such an important productivity tool for me (in addition to being a fantastic entertainment device) I have been thinking through which apps might best help compensate for my one-handedness.
Here are a few that stand out…
In the mist of writing reviews on the various iPhone applications for accessing and managing your Netflix queue, I have, thus far, focused on those applications that are specifically intended for Netflix (or in one case for Netflix and Blockbuster).
I would, however, be remiss if I didn’t also include mention of iTV which recently added access to your Netflix queue.
Now that Apple has loosened up a bit about which applications make it into the App Store and which don’t, a slew of new ones are making their way to an iPhone near you.
Some have slightly off-color humor and some — like so many applications before them– are sound machines. Instead of creating the soft sound of flowing water, or chirping of birds, however, these offer… a variety of bodily sounds.
Well, imagine my surprise this morning when I discovered that one of the newly released apps in this rapidly growing genre has a familiar name attached to it. Yes, folks, my friend and website partner, Dimitri, has launched the iPhone App company Portable Arts and they have released their very first iPhone application — Who Farted?
