User Rating:Your cheddar is under attack. Mice of all shapes and sizes are looking to make a feast from your cheese. Cheese and Mouse is a face paced reaction game where you attempt to stave off the assault from these rodents by taping, or swiping them off your stacks of cheese. Can you save the swiss, or will the pests procure your pepper jack.
The game starts slow with one type of mouse, but quickly ramps up the difficulty with mice that must be taped more than once, as well as mice that must be swiped to kill. Each time a new mouse is introduced the game pauses to let you know so there are no surprises. Besides exterminated rodents, you must also collect coins and hearts that appear on the screen. There is also an occasional letter that falls from the sky. If you collect all the letters in the word “frenzy,” then the game tells you to shake the iPhone, which causes all the mice that pop up at that time to die instantly. As you collect your coins, you are given opportunities to purchase items like extra hearts, and power-ups. I haven’t been able to try out any of the power-ups yet due to their cost, but purchasing hearts is a life saver, since each time you miss a mouse, or attempt to dispose of them in an incorrect manner, it will cost you a heart.
Cheese and Mouse is a fun causal game that will help pass the time waiting for a subway car, or at the doctor’s office. There isn’t much outside of the basic game and Game Center rankings to hold your interest, but many people enjoy a diversionary game that is simple, colorful, and doesn’t require a lot of commitment to enjoy. Cheese and Mouse fits this to a tee. Cheese and Mouse can be found on the app store for $.99.
