User Rating:I remember playing the original Command and Conquer: Red Alert (low res graphics, big pixels) and how insanely addictive it was. Fast paced, engaging and well structured. Then Electronic Arts purchased the original developers, and squashed innovation. What was one of the most hyped games ever (Tiberian Sun) was only mildly satisfying.
Fast forward, and Electronic Arts kept releasing titles in the Command and Conquer franchise. Among them, many sequels for Red Alert and in particular the title under consideration. It’s not a bad experience. 3D landscapes, big units. Stylish graphics. But lacks punch. You can play campaigns as 3 factions and countless skirmishes. It’s not due to a lack of options. It’s something else that jus does not feel right.
For an awesome mobile experience you need a fast paced game, like the original Red Alert, not its late cousin with 3D graphics. You need fixed isometric graphs, quick movement. Maybe this is a personal opinion, but I’d rather see the original Red Alert in my pocket. Electronic Arts, please think about it.
In short: Interesting game, well executed, lacking punch.
