User Rating:ElectroTrains looks cool. Plays cool. Makes me angry. Why? Oh, why is it so hard?
ElectroTrains is one of those neat little games where you have to give routes to something. You know what I mean: giving orders to planes, taxis, cars, boats. In this instance, trains. In some sense it reminds me of TrainYard , but it is different enough to be fun on its own.
ElectroTrains goal is simple: get as many points as possible. You play in a track with 3 stations (at least for the first level) of different colors: red, green, blue. Trains also have a color (and a speed) and you have to move each train to its station to unload passengers, while collecting points. How? Tapping railroad crossings changes the route, so you can get trains going on. Also tapping a train gives it a boost of speed to avoid collisions.
In ElectroTrains as you deliver more and more passengers and more and more trains to the end of the line you get more and more points, they increase after each successful run. And with enough points, you’ll unlock the next levels. It’s simple, isn’t it? Well, as smooth as the gameplay is, the game is hard as hell. Give it a try, it’s addicting. Also it is a universal app, working perfectly in iPhones and iPads.
In short: ElectroTrains is a fun, engaging puzzler that will get you frenzied.
Quick Take
Value:High
Would I Buy Again:Yes
Learning Curve:Very small
Who Is It For:Casual gamers, puzzle lovers
What I Like:The concept and smoothness
What I Don't Like:More levels would be welcome
Final Statement:A very good little time waster
Electric blue, red and green trains approach - can you guide them to the right stations and safely away without crashing? Switch the points to send the trains to the correctly colored stations. Tap the trains to speed them up and avoid collisions. Once you've delivered your passengers, send the trains on their onward journeys to make room for new arrivals at the junction.
Simple controls - tap to switch points, tap to speed up the trains.
Perfect for any train journey, long or short.
Super-smooth even on first-generation devices.
