“Then we turned and journeyed into the wilderness in the direction of the Red Sea….” Having a bible in your pocket when you are, say, stuck in an airport, or stuck inside an airplane during heavy turbulence, is never a bad thing. And there are so many bible apps available!

With over a hundred apps to choose from, it can be hard to decide which one to get. The ESV bible app is a good option as it’s free, not bogged down by ads and it’s very user friendly. It opens to all the bible books, divided by Old Testament and New Testament, you can scroll through the separate books and within the books the separate chapters. As it’s the English Standard Version, it only offers English as a language, so if you’re looking for another language this definitely isn’t the app for you.

It doesn’t offer a reading plan and it doesn’t allow you to share notes or thoughts with friends or family, which is a shame. As it’s free, and they want to spread the word, they don’t have the funds to do too much on development, but they have promised to make it more interactive, making it possible to share notes and thoughts.
