User Rating:I’ll admit. I’m lazy, and I love putting things off till the very last minute. More often than not, this proves to be my downfall when deadlines start piling on me. So I was quite happy when I heard about Finish.
As per the app title might suggest, Finish was developed with the aim of helping procrastinators like me get down to doing work.
To start things off, one has to realize how procrastinators love to push things till the very last minute. Unless something is due the very next morning, they won’t even start on it till the night before. So what Finish has in store would be three zonal methods of categorization to chart the importance of whatever tasks you may have at hand: Short term, Middle term, and Long term. The importance levels of these groups is pretty much self-explanatory. The time frames defining these categories can be adjusted in the settings.
What Finish does is to group the tasks you have to complete via importance preceding from the date the tasks are due for. So rather than having to filter through dozens of randomly arranged reminders, users get to view what’s most urgently requiring their attention and get down to it first. Cue a couple of somewhat annoying but very much appreciated push notifications as reminders, and you have one of the simplest and yet most effective forms of reminders.
Of course with all that said, ultimately it all boils down to your self-discipline. Unless you have the urge and initiative to overcome this horrible habit, no app can be developed to help you. But would I pay a dollar for something that helps me with keeping myself in check? Indeed I will.
