FriendFeed
App Type: Blogs
I’ve been using FriendFeed more and more and really like the way in which it allows me to quickly and easily keep up to date on what my friends are doing. Sure, most are on Twitter so I can follow…
Judie as she strolls through Paris,
or
Patrick while he goes crazy over the latest (fill in the sport…) game.
With FriendFeed, though, I get to see what they are interested in and what they have recently posted, as well. I can even see their photos or share in their latest music finds.
The folks at FriendFeed describe the goal of their service as striving to
…make content on the Web more relevant and useful for you by using your existing social network as a tool for discovering interesting information. You get a customized feed made up of the content that your friends shared — from news articles to family photos to interesting links and videos. And your friends get their customized feeds, full of the cool stuff that you’ve shared.
FriendFeed’s new iPhone optimized site takes it to the next level by making it simple to keep up while on the go. Patrick over at JustAnotheriPhoneBlog turned me on to it and had this to say—
It looks very sharp and feels great to work with so far. It features larger fonts and elements on the page… (and) makes it even more handy to find things quickly and interact with quickly.
I couldn’t agree more. The new iPhone optimized site makes it far easier to use.
Moreover, since FriendFeed is about keep up to date on the go, and "native Applications" are mostly abut having information when a data connection IS nOT available, FriendFeed is one of those applications for which a web app is more than sufficient.
Our recommendation- get yourself a FriendFeed account and create a WebClip to it on your iPhone’s homepage.
