User Rating:GeoEmpires, where you are no longer the Major. You are the Knight of that pizza joint. The Squire of the library. The Usurper of Subway. Being in a place is now a conquest game, like FourSquare got “gamed”. How cool is that?
GeoEmpires is a very interesting take in the location-based games, sprouting lately in the App Store. Gameplay is simple, set in a kind of middle-aged kingdom but can keep you moving around unknown places of your city. As you are longer in a place, you get loyalty points from the “local villagers”, until you can overtake the current ruler, or pillage their incomes. You can also pick treasures… by walking over them in real life. Definitely cool. Now you can fight against your officemate for the throne of that pizza joint.
Gameplay is as simple as that: being somewhere, going somewhere and making sure you have enough in-game money (that you take from your fictitious “villagers”.)
In short: GeoEmpires brings gaming to your everyday walks. Just like FourSquare, but fun!
