Do you consider yourself an intelligent person? Do you rise above the seas of mediocrity to soar with the eagles of life? Do you ever doubt your abilities and think that perhaps you are actually an idiot in disguise? Idiot Test, by CreativeNose, challenges you to a series of mind games where you will think you know the answer… but you will fail.

The puzzles in Idiot Test generally consist of either plays on words which cause you to not follow directions, reaction puzzles that try and trick you into tapping at the wrong time, or object recognition puzzles which have you tapping colors and words that change between questions. The Questions start out easy, but soon become devilishly hard as you approach the end of each bank of questions. There are twenty-six questions per level and fifteen levels organized by difficulty as well as gender. The game itself comes with the “Easy” questions, while Hard and “Fail Him/Her” are each $.99 IAPs. Each section offers three banks of questions that must be completed without fail or else you reveal how much of an idiot you really are. Once you have finished you can send out a “certificate” post on Facebook to brag, or shame on yourself.

While I won’t say much about the kinds of questions on the tests, I will say their challenge comes mostly from the purposefully misleading directions. There are images that draw your focus to the wrong answer, and there are times where a time limit is imposed to make you hurry in order to trip you up. The down side to all these tricky questions is that once you know the answer, there isn’t much of a challenge.

While other apps like “Moron Test” and “What’s My IQ?” are content to offer simple plays on words, or timed events that punish you for not acting fast enough. Idiot Test Gives you are variety of tricks and often times even if you take several minutes to carefully study the question you will still get it wrong because the question purposely misleads you. Once you find the answer you will definitely be smacking you head for how obvious it was.

There are three bonus mini games which can occupy your time, but once the questions are run, the app serves only to spring on your unsuspecting friends. I finished a bank of questions in about half an hour of casual play. If you like a good puzzle that has you thinking outside of the box, I would recommend you at least try the easy level, and then once you have been humiliated with your 58 tries to get through, you may finally know the answer to the Idiot Test.
