It’s only a matter of time before using paper for reading is completely eradicated altogether. Amazon recently made news in the electronic world by launching the Kindle, a device that allows you to download an entire book and read it. Now Andrew Kaz and Phillip Ryu have created an application for Classic titles. With Classics, you can download an assortment of classic titles in literature right to your iPhone or iPod touch.

This application redefines how you read books by taking such classics as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and allowing you to download it to read on your device. You will find the title page, the contents sorted by chapter, the text, and even any of the original illustrations that accompanied the original publication. The software allows you to flip through the pages with animation and sound effects that make you feel like you are actually reading the book.

The menu has all of your books, cover art and all, organized on a real life looking book shelf. The books can be displayed and organized in any way you see fit. When you are finished reading at the moment, the program allows you to place a red satin ribbon on the page that you last stopped reading. Right now the books offered include: The Jungle Book, A Christmas Carol, Pride and Prejudice, Treasure Island and many more.
